Identify your true financial performance. Most solicitors firms accounts are prepared with one thing in mind, namely to minimise tax. That may sound like a sensible approach, but the result is that a firm’s true financial performance is rarely reflected in the accounts and as such it can be exceedingly difficult to identify what is going well and what is not.  Our initial approach is often to restate your most recent financial results using standard accountancy practices so that we have a true picture of performance, and we can then benchmark and look to improve the same.

Operational review. Claimant personal injury work lends itself very well to statistical analysis and key performance indicator monitoring. Understanding the current levels of operating performance is essential if profit improvement areas are to be identified. Our operational review is specifically designed to concentrate on those areas that have a direct, and often immediate, impact on profitability.    

Future objectives. A great many Partners in law firms give knee jerk answers when we ask what it is they want to achieve – the usual ‘make more money’ tends to come high on the list. We will work with you to help you to take a step back so that we can truly map out your short, medium and longer term goals – both from a business and a personal point of view. Once we know what these objectives are, we can help build a financial and operational model to achieve them.       

Presenting facts and recommendations. We will set out our findings and recommendations in a formal report which we will present to the Partners. The report will include an action plan and a timetable for its delivery.
